Program Overview
The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is a 12-month program composed of various Ambulatory Care components that are designed to develop the PGY1 resident into a highly skilled pharmacy practitioner with additional experience in the ambulatory care setting. Through general and specialty ambulatory care learning experiences, as well as experiences in acute care medicine and transitions of care, the PGY1 resident will be exposed to a variety of areas where pharmacists have a growing impact on patient care in clinical practice. The program was designed with the belief that the best ambulatory care providers are those who can fully understand the patient’s experience throughout the continuum of care including outpatient clinics, acute care institutions, and transitional care environments.
In order to provide well-rounded training in all aspects of contemporary pharmacy practice, the PGY1 resident will have gained direct patient care skills in the following areas: family medicine, heart failure, anticoagulation, rehabilitation, transitions of care, population health management, teaching and precepting, project management, and drug information.

Must have a valid pharmacy license to practice in the state of Delaware by September 1, 2022.
Application Requirements:
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited College or School of Pharmacy
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Delaware
- Letter of intent, three letters of recommendation, CV, academic transcripts
- Submission of application materials through PhORCAS
- ASHP Residency Matching Program registration
