Emergency Care, COVID-19
As the region’s healthcare leader, Bayhealth is poised to safely care for our community. Our top priority is to ensure all our facilities are safe and ready to care for those who need us right now. Because we know there’s nothing worse than delaying care when you need it most.
“To call the past year a challenge would be an understatement. The COVID-19 pandemic has tested us all,” said Vice President of Quality and Medical Affairs John Fink, MD. “As healthcare providers, we’ve learned an incredible amount throughout the pandemic. Prevention measures remain paramount – and we know that they work!”
These measures of wearing a face mask, washing your hands, and socially distancing are key behaviors to stop the spread of COVID-19. Inside all Bayhealth facilities, important infection prevention work continues including wearing the proper personal protective equipment, screening everyone who enters our facilities, using state-of-the-art and the most innovative enhanced cleaning and disinfecting procedures, spacing out furniture to promote social distancing, and adding additional layers of protection such as Plexiglas.
“When the COVID-19 pandemic began our healthcare teams were ready to be on the frontlines caring for their community with a renewed purpose, all while continuing the great work they already do every day,” said Dr. Fink. “During a time of fear and uncertainty, our team members never wavered from their dedication to the provide safe, high-quality care to our neighbors across Kent and Sussex counties.”
A trip to the emergency department or physician’s office may give you pause but know that waiting can only make things worse. The community can be confident that Bayhealth has taken every precaution, and our facilities are now safer than ever. Our award-winning care teams are committed to bringing the nation’s best healthcare home to Delaware, which begins and ends with providing the safest care available.
